What is a best friend? A best friend is someone that you can trust that will be there for you no matter what. Anyone can be a friend but best friends who always got your back are hard to find. My best friends are Ashley and Mariah. I met them my freshman year at Mott Middle College. From our first encounter with each other it seems like we had a lot of things in common, and we began hanging out with each other. As a couple months went by, we decided that we would become best friends. We started going to the movies, studying with each other, and just having fun together. We all understand that if you want to achieve something in life you have to have some kind of support team. For us, our support team would be each other. Mariah is who I can go to when I just need someone to listen to my problems and give me ideas on what I should do in that situation. Ashley is who I can go to when I need serious information. For example, when I was undecided about which college I wanted to attend, she sat me down and we went over the pros and cons of a couple different colleges. She didn’t encourage a certain college, but help me pick the right choice for me. Since then if you see one of us then the other two are not far behind. We have helped each other in difficult times. For example, when my mother died my best friends were there for me when my family wasn’t. They helped me understand that my mother had gone to a better place and that I should be happy for her because she’s not suffering anymore. They motivated me to finish school and to accomplish the dreams my mother had for me. The motivation they gave me helped me decide what I wanted out of life. My best friends are an important part of my life and I don’t know where I would be without them.
